ASF Logistics has been doing business with Oakworth since 2016. Our Chairman and Co-Founder Sandy Myers and I met with Scott Reed (chairman and CEO), Sam Scalici (COO) and Trent Green (managing director, deposit & treasury) one afternoon to hear the Oakworth story.
Going into the meeting my mindset was “We don’t need to fix what isn’t broken.”, but I was willing to listen. At the time, I was content with Regions Bank and the services they were providing, which included numerous daily outgoing ACH and wire transactions along with traditional treasury services and credit facilities.
Oakworth’s message and value proposition immediately resonated with me. They were offering a “big bank” suite of services without the layers of departments and bureaucracy. They assured me that they had the capability to handle all our banking needs, while keeping it close and personal.
What ultimately led us to choose Oakworth? Having worked with most of the larger banks in the South Alabama market, the personal relationship aspect just seemed to be missing. Oakworth convinced me that would not be the case if I chose them. They offered a dedicated team to assist with a hands-on seamless transition, and they delivered.
Above and beyond? Yes. And that’s what we can expect now, because that level of service is the norm at Oakworth. They might be a smaller bank, but their capabilities far exceed their size.
What pleases me most is that my accounting team rarely encounters any banking problems or issues. In the rare event there is a problem, we have multiple points of contact to resolve the issue in short order.
