Georgeann and Sean Wokasien

We’ve been doing business with Oakworth since 2017. Our company is based in Daphne, Alabama, but we do a lot of work in multiple states. When we first bought the company, there were seven employees (including us) and no equipment. We transitioned from a design build engineering company to strictly construction. Today we have 41 employees and 14 pieces of equipment!  

We don’t have a lot of leeway in our decision-making timelines… it’s a lot of very last-minute needs. Oakworth is always ready to help get loans processed, hand-deliver checks, and go the extra mile. We chose Oakworth because they were willing to work with us and always carry the “what can we do to help” mentality. They clearly believed in us and wanted to be our partner and help us succeed from the very beginning.  And I don’t just mean our company… but our family, too. They wanted to know what personal goals my husband, Sean, and I were striving to achieve. They know our kids, who are both in college and feel comfortable calling Oakworth for help if they need it. That speaks volumes. 

Sometimes problems arise, like when we were victims of check fraud. There was suspicious check activity in Virginia (somewhere we never do business) and Oakworth called to tell us something was not right. It looked like our check, it looked like my signature, but it was in Virginia. Our client advisor, Jeremy Roberts, was able to fix it immediately. Oakworth put a lock on the account and did everything needed to correct the situation.  

As for making life easy…  I don’t have to think about banking! If a question comes up, I just call Oakworth. I never have to worry about where things are and what’s going on. I know Jeremy will handle it. I know everyone there will jump onboard and help. As for an added bonus? Their online banking makes our lives easy. I have everything at my fingertips all the time.  

What stands out most is that I can always reach someone. I’ve never had to leave a voicemail or an email and worry that someone isn’t going to respond. I can always, always talk to a person. It seems that most of my banking problems are at 4:55 p.m. on a Friday afternoon, and Oakworth is there to help. The whole team knows who we are. We aren’t just an account number. We are human beings, and it feels like we are their favorite clients! Oakworth needs to keep doing whatever it is they are doing to hire the right people -it truly makes a difference.
