Before joining Oakworth, Mr. Oates built a versatile skillset as an asset management strategist with Regions Financial in Birmingham, developing strategies for institutions and high net worth clients; providing operational support for senior management and portfolio managers; analyzing and developing portfolio deconstructions and growth projections; and other tasks.
His four-year tenure at Regions included researching and writing about artificial intelligence and its effects on banking, as well as documenting resource and revenue reports and developing client presentations. Prior to Regions, he was a project manager with Lloyd R. Wilson & Associates for two years.
Mr. Oates currently sits on the Charlotte Latin Giving and Endowment Alumni Council and previously served on the Birmingham-Southern College Young Alumni Council. He uses his experience as a lacrosse player to coach his community team.
