Mr. Busby brings deep experience advising closely held business owners, individuals and families on sophisticated estate, tax and wealth transfer strategies. As a company-wide resource, he partners with Client Advisors across commercial, private and wealth core disciplines to support discovery, design and implementation for complex client relationships.
Prior to joining Oakworth, Mr. Busby was a shareholder at the law firm of Dentons Sirote, P.C., where he served on the Board of Directors as well as the Dentons U.S. Region Board. He served as co-chair of the Trusts, Estates, and Wealth Preservation Practice Group, which is ranked in Band 1 in “Chambers” High Net Worth.
In his legal practice, Mr. Busby counseled clients on estate and trust planning, wealth preservation, probate and sophisticated tax strategies, with a strong emphasis on minimizing estate and income taxes. He has extensive experience advising on generational transfers, succession planning and fiduciary administration, and has been ranked in Private Wealth Law in Alabama by “Chambers” High Net Worth and recognized by “Best Lawyers” in America for Tax and Trusts and Estates.
