Sonia Blumstein

Ms. Blumstein serves as Director of Communications and Marketing for Oakworth Capital Bank. She is responsible for leading Oakworth’s communications and marketing strategy. Ms. Blumstein joins us from Valent Group, the risk management division of EBSCO Industries. There she served as a member of the agency’s executive leadership team and as Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Communications. Among her achievements include leading the organization through a rebranding experience and launching their first service verticals within their property and casualty division. Prior to Valent, she was an Account Supervisor for Intermark Group, representing a variety of B2B and B2C clients, driving public relations and comprehensive marketing strategies for her clients.

Ms. Blumstein is a Texas native, coming to Alabama by way of Washington, DC. In Washington, Sonia worked for an economic think tank and later transitioned to a boutique PR firm placing economists and their research in the national and local media as well as organizing events on Capitol Hill to educate lawmakers and their staff.

Ms. Blumstein is a graduate of Momentum’s Executive Leadership Program, the premier women’s executive leadership program in Birmingham. She earned her M.A. from Regent University in Washington, DC, and her B.A. from Howard Payne University in Texas. She has two children, Madeleine and Judah Kai. She and her husband, Derek, have been married for nearly 20 years and their family loves hiking, good food and all things Star Wars.
