Michelle Smith

Ms. Smith is a highly accomplished senior compliance management and registrations professional with a proven track record in regulatory compliance, registrations and licensing, and strategic planning. She joins Oakworth with over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Most recently, she served as vice president, registrations, and licensing manager at StoneX Financial Inc., where she worked to license associates among three independent broker dealers, two independent registered investment adviser firms and other global entities. She has also worked for Regions Bank and ProEquities (now Concourse) in a senior compliance capacity. Ms. Smith emphasizes best practices and collaboration in all that she does. 

Ms. Smith and her husband, Paul, recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. She has two energetic 5-year-old Jack Russell Terriers, Potter and Piper. When not at work, she enjoys vacationing with her husband in the Great Smoky Mountains and spending time on her small family farm. Michelle graduated from UAB and is an active member of her church, Grace Fellowship, where she enjoys leading and serving the Welcome Committee with her husband.
