In his role with Oakworth, Mr. Akins’ client-focused advisory services are tailored to the complex financial needs of successful individuals and multigenerational families. He provides thoughtful guidance through the many milestones of their financial lives. He focuses on integrating investment management, banking, credit, liquidity, and estate planning considerations into cohesive strategies aligned with client objectives.
Prior to joining Oakworth, Mr. Akins served as a vice president and private banking advisor at J.P. Morgan Private Bank and previously held senior advisory and strategy roles at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America and Truist. Throughout his career, he has managed complex client relationships and contributed to enterprise-wide wealth planning and strategic initiatives.
Mr. Akins loves spending time with his family, being outdoors, playing tennis or boating on Lake Norman. An avid automotive enthusiast, he serves on the boards of automotive events and enjoys participating in automotive and concours events.
